5 Hot Spots on Lido Key, Sarasota That #YouOtaVisit

One of our local beaches, Siesta Key, was once again named #1 Beach. It’s a  well-deserved honor that puts Sarasota on the map. But that’s not the beach we go to. We prefer Lido Beach. The sand isn’t quite a soft but it’s still amazing. The parking is easier, getting on the beach is close to parking,  and it’s usually not as busy. But unless we have company, we don’t take advantage of it nearly as much as we should.

What we do take advantage of, especially in the summer when it’s not tourist season, is what Lido Key has to offer. One of our most favorite restaurants is there on St. Armand’s Circle. (If you follow us on Instagram more of our photos are from there than anywhere else!) It’s called Tommy Bahamas and it’s NOT a tourist trap. The food is amazing and their craft cocktails are divine. Robert’s favorite is the Grapefruit Basil Martini and mine is either the Coconut Cloud Martini or any of their Margaritas.

Several doors down is the Surf Shack. Once again, the cocktail scene is as good there as the lobster tacos. Check out the upstairs bar if you want a quieter scene.

Across the street is the Daiquiri Deck. It borderlines touristy but it’s a lot of fun. We don’t care for frozen drinks but when it Rome, you gotta go with a Deck Diesel. And I love their Snapper Wrapper sandwiches.

In between eating and drinking, there’s shopping and more shopping. St. Armand’s Circle has t-shirt shops to high end boutiques like Lily Pulitzer and The Shore.

Speaking of The Shore, above the ultra hip surf shop is another of our favorite restaurants also called The Shore. The roof opens up when the weather is nice and they also have a killer selection of craft cocktails.

And if you don’t mind leaving St. Armand’sBl The Salty Dog is one of the few spots right on the water and it’s only 1.3 miles away. I highly recommend ignoring calories for the day and having their frozen Key Lime Coloda.

So listen to our tourism board when they claim #YouOtaVisit Sarasota. And when you’re tired, all you need to do is take a nice nap on the beach.

Hope to see you enjoying our town. Cheers!

Sounds like Sarasota is the perfect vacay spot! The Lobster Taco would be a perfect side to a margarita! 💕
