Welcome to 2017: The Year of Palette Expanding

For years, I was a “one-type-of-drink” girl. In the 80s, even before Sex & The City, it was only Cosmos for me.

Once that show made them uber popular, I switched to Gin & Tonics. And then I discovered how to modify a French Martini.  Which became really annoying to order because I liked them a certain way and they had to be ingredient specific. Not great in large groups. I apologize to every server that has ever taken my order. (Must have Vanilla Stoli, pineapple juice and a splash of Chambord, please). In recent years, the drink of choice has been a Manhattan. (Rye Manhattans for those that don’t know the official way to make them.)

This blog has been a journey of expanding my palette. I even drink beer now – something I never even did in my 20s. While Robert has always been an equal opportunity drinker, he still prefers straight vodka with a fresh squeeze lime juice. Sometimes he gets crazy and asks for orange slices. He will drink them on the rocks or straight up. He’s pretty easy going, one of my favorite qualities about him.

With this still the beginning of the new year, it’s time to get back to focusing on this blog. Thank you to all of those who have been asking us about it. I look forward to trying new places, meeting new mixologists, and eventually learning how to make fabulous garnishes.

In the meantime, find us on Instagram @Cocktail_Couple It’s one of my favorite places to hang out.

Cheers! And Happy New Year!

I’m so excited for you in 2017 and maybe even trying out a drink with you along the way. I need to expand my palette!
